3 Sad But Helpless Situations And How To Deal With Them

Okay, okay – this isn’t going to be a serious post. Yes, the title was click bait. To be honest, I am in no way qualified to tell people how to deal with sadness and pain. But I am a joker and in a mood to write something funny so here goes. I’m sure you’ve been in atleast one of these situations and hopefully can relate to the pain.

Situation #1 – Your new leggings/stockings rip the first time you wear them

I’ve been in this situation SO many times when a new pair of leggings/stockings rip or get caught somewhere and tear the first time I wear them out. The pain is real especially if you’ve found that perfect pair that fits you well and makes you feel so much more confident and hot (yesss, a good pair of leggings can do that).

How to deal with it? Just keep wearing the legging/stocking and pretend that the rip is a part of the fashion statement you are going for. Hey, if ripped jeans are a thing – ripped leggings/stockings should be a thing too!!!!

Situation #2 – When you find that perfect profile on a dating app and they don’t match with you

If you’re a girl (atleast in India), this is far less likely to happen to you but it does happen sometimes. It’s happened with me exactly once – I came across the profile of this relatively good looking guy who was well educated and had fun answers on his profile (to those incredibly boring prompts). He was pretty dreamy in my head and after I liked his profile, I waited with bated breath for that imminent match notification. While waiting I made up those crazy scenarios of how perfect our love story was going to be. Minutes turned to hours to days – no match. Sigh.

How to deal with it? Open a food delivery app – order the largest tub of ice cream – play the movie ‘Serendipity’ – wonder why these meet cutes don’t happen to you and eat the entire tub of ice cream while cursing your luck.

Situation #3 – You save a snack to eat later and come to get it later only to find that someone’s already eaten it

It’s midnight, you’re binge watching a show and suddenly craving a snack. You remember that tasty snack that you had saved to eat later and silently make you way to the kitchen to look for it (because the rest of your family is asleep). You excitedly open the snack drawer and horrifically discover that the snack isn’t there. You start looking through other cabinets just incase you kept it somewhere else but nada. There is a sinking feeling in your stomach as it understands that it isn’t going to get that much needed snack. You go back to your room dejected, sad, angry and kind of hungry.

How to deal with it? Switch off the damn laptop and go to sleep. When you wake up, either you’d have forgotten about the snack or would have a nice opportunity to pick a fight with the family member that you suspect ate your snack.

Please tell me you found atleast ONE of these situations to be relatable! What are some other funny kind of sad and helpless situations that come to your mind? πŸ˜€

Growing up with a sister who’d eat every single thing I’d be saving – the pain is real!!! So many pre-exam nights, I’d go looking for that chocolate that I’d be saving to beat my anxiety and it would be GONE! πŸ˜€

Thankfully, I have no experience with leggings.🀣 I did have a flashback to one of my regular field trips in elementary school. At the end of the year, I’d take my students to our local swimming pool. Despite countless warnings and having them put their clothing in a designated spot, one or more of my boys would misplace their underwear in the locker room. Definitely awkward. The pool had spares left from before, but how many people really want to put on someone else’s underwear?😫 One of the funniest parent notes I ever received was from a mother wanting to know if I had found Johnny’s underwear. What did she thinkβ€”that I had, but was keeping it as a souvenir?🀣🀣🀣

Okay, number 1 made me laugh because my husband lives in his beloved sweatpants (which he put up a fight when I wanted him to get it to begin with) and over the years, his sweatpants morphed into a giant, holey rag. He won’t trash them lol he literally looks like a bum dropping off Charlotte to daycare! I keep telling him those need to retire!

Also, some of my angriest moments in life have been visualizing a snack-food I’ve saved at home waiting for me to return home to consume ONLY to find it trashed or eaten. πŸ˜’πŸ‘Ώ

Exactly!! I petition to make ripped leggings a thing. 🀣

I wore mine a few days back and like 10 people felt the need to tell me that my leggings are ripped. πŸ™ˆ
