IWD| Letter To My Younger Self

Dear 15 Year Old Me,

It’s not going too well, is it? Teenage years are hard and your early 20s even more so but eventually you’ll figure it out (not really :P). I wish I could make a whole binder of advice to give to you but this short letter will have to do for now.

#1: Stop making that life plan right now! If I could give you one advice it would be that life is unpredictable – don’t be so fixed in your plans – learn to go with the flow of life. Some things will work out, some things won’t work out but eventually everything will make sense in the bigger picture of life.

#2: Learn to chill and enjoy life in the moment. The moment you’re in right now will never come back don’t ruin it thinking about the past or worrying about the future. Focus on making the best of this moment.

#3: I know you crave for that one friend, that one confidant who would get you – like really get you. Relationships are hard, there is no one equation that can solve it but the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. Focus on loving yourself first. Without self love you’re going to keep looking for love in all the wrong people and relationships.

#4: Make mistakes! A perfect life is boring. Stop worrying about doing it all right – take chances, make mistakes, go down the wrong way – it’s the mistakes, the could-bes, the path less taken that will make your life all the more fun.

#5: Stop caring about what other people think of you. Period.

#6: Believe in yourself. No matter what – always believe in yourself. Be your own cheerleader always. Believe in your choices even when others don’t. Have conviction in your abilities and don’t let the naysayers get to you.

#7: Spend time alone. Go out on your own. Go on dates with yourself. Be absolutely comfortable in your own skin.

#8: Stop waiting for prince charming to come rescue you. You’re a strong, independent woman – write your own story in which you’re the S-hero.

#9: Always be kind. No matter how bad the world is – always choose to be kind. Don’t let the world make you cold.

#10: The only single goal in life is to be peaceful and happy. No amount of money or success can get you that. Whenever possible – choose the path that brings your soul peace and calm, happiness will follow.

You’re going to be okay! Maybe stop eating all that candy – dentist treatments are painful. 😛

I love you.

Older You

This is what I would tell my younger self – “it’s okay to take time to figure things out, to live life at your own pace and not follow the herd.”

    ✨And happy women’s day, Moksha✨

Thanks HP 🙂 I love all your inspiring words to yourself (be kind, comfortable in your own skin, embrace the quietness of being on your own, take in every moment)… I so relate 😊

  8. You are a true goddess, just hang in there. #3 hurts I know. They’ll come eventually. I can relate so much and felt all those things in my twenties. Things start leveling off by mid-thirties. I would tell my younger self that I will have everything I want in life, it’ll just arrive way later than I expected, but will be worth it ☺️

I would tell my younger self: “You don’t know everything, and that’s okay. You never will, and you’ll make it anyway. You are enough.”
